As I work downtown regularly, Brioso Coffee’s Long Street shop and roastery is one of my favorite stops. Brioso has been active for more than 20 years, opening their first shop on the northeast corner of Gay and High streets before moving catty corner in 2020.
They added their Long Street shop and moved the roastery there in 2016.
Brioso is a favorite for me not only for their excellent roasts but for their cozy and calm space, and the friendly baristas.
I love especially that this shop is relatively quiet (even with the roaster at work).
It isn’t huge, but it features a collection of low, wooden communal tables, a couple high-tops, and some comfier chairs, perfect for relaxing with an espresso, reading, or getting some work done.
It’s hard to go wrong with their whole coffee menu, but I’m especially partial to the Ohio maple latte. It’s terrific either hot or iced.
While you’re waiting in line, you can often see the roaster at work.
Brioso’s coffee appears on cafe and coffee shop menus across the city. You can purchase whole beans and brewing equipment at their shop; I especially love their Espresso Milano and Costa Rican roasts.
Brioso on Long Street is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
You can read more about their newer Gay and High Street shop here.
