Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Winans Coffee + Chocolates has opened its newest Columbus store in the Short North. The shop sits at 611 N. High St., next to Marcella’s and steps away from the 670 cap and the Convention Center.
This marks the 22nd store for the Piqua, Ohio-based chocolatier and coffee roaster, and the fourth in central Ohio, joining shops in German Village, Grandview Yard, and Historic Dublin. Winans first opened in 1961 and is now run by the third generation of the family.
Side note: you can see our tour of Winans’ factory in How To Do a Day in Miami County!
At the Short North store, Winans is offering a full range of confections as well as a full coffee bar with espresso, lattes, frozen drinks, hot chocolate, and more.
You’ll find Winans’ usual collection of assorted chocolates, chocolate-covered goodies, bourbon-filled confections, pretzels, and much more.
The store is fully stocked for their grand opening on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
You’ll also find a mix of their coffees, from the Winans blend, decaf, and flavored coffees like blueberry or Highlander grog.
A photo wall near the back showcases photos of Winans’ yesteryear.
Winans Short North’s grand opening is Wednesday, Feb. 14, and they’re running specials all day:
- From 8-11 a.m., get a free 12-ounce drip coffee
- From noon-4 p.m., get free Valentine’s Day goodies for the kids
- From 5-8 p.m. enjoy a Valentine’s Day party with free chocolate and coffee samples, plus light hors d’oeuvres.
