It’s no secret – at least, to us – that we love One Line Coffee – both their original Short North location and their newer Franklinton store. We’ll make any excuse to stop by there for a cappuccino or some Kyoto-style cold brew. Generally, we justify it any time we drive south of Hudson Avenue. “South of Hudson? That’s close to One Line!”

So of course it’s no secret I’m very excited they opened a second shop downtown in the Huntington Center. I work a couple days a week downtown, so I’m over the moon to have One Line a couple blocks away (although being in close proximity to Brioso Coffee is always a bonus, too).

The new One Line is located at street level through the main entrance to the building. When you enter from High Street, you’re facing a giant escalator – One Line is behind that. They’ve taken the place of an old Peet’s Coffee.

The shop is fully decked out, like their Short North location but smaller. But they have a full range of espresso drinks (with some additions – see the menu above), coffee brewing equipment, whole beans, and local baked goods from Pattycake Bakery, Destination Donuts, and Cherbourg Bakery.

They use a Modbar, an espresso machine that’s hidden under the counter, with espresso “taps” poking out the top. It opens up the counter space and lets you interact more with the baristas.

And it lets you watch your drinks being made. Always fun.

Like I said, we love their cappuccinos. They’ve also started offering cortados – one of my favorites. A simple shot of espresso cut with a little milk.

Like I said, we’re very excited to see One Line expand. If you work downtown or find yourself there during the week, make a point to stop in!
