Delaney’s Diner has been on a roll in recent years! Since opening their first location in 2017, in the former Best Breakfast & Sandwiches (RIP) space in Westerville, they’re now up to four stores. They added locations in Reynoldsburg and Groveport before opening in Grandview in August of 2023, taking over over half of the former Marshall’s Restaurant on First Avenue.
The design follows their other locations with red seats and booths, metal plating around the walls, photos of vintage signs. There’s a main dining room on the right, plus a smaller one with a counter on the left.
Delaney’s serves an easy-to-love menu of breakfast favorites: pancakes and French toast, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, omelets, country fried steak.
Our orders ran the gamut. One of us tasted a half order of biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a little milky – maybe needed a little more seasoning – but the biscuit was flaky and buttery.
Nicely done, golden brown chocolate chip pancakes with lightly crispy edges.
A full order of biscuits and gravy with a little cheese on top. Delaney’s scores points in my book for their hash browns. I’ll always pick those over home fries, and these versions are crispy and well seasoned.
Two of Delaney’s specialties are the Big Daddy’s Breakfast and the Indy 500. The Big Daddy’s is featured here, and includes country fried steak and gravy, hash browns, two eggs cooked to order, and a biscuit. The steak was nicely seasoned and tender.
The Indy 500 is similar but features a hand-breaded pork tenderloin.
Another house specialty is the breakfast conewich, a mini breakfast cornucopia of sorts. It’s a baked shell overflowing with scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, and cheese, served over hash browns. Although the shell is a little tough, it’s fun to eat.
Delaney’s is open Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
