Colin’s Coffee Re-opens Inside The Daily Growler

November 1, 2023

After nearly 20 years in business, Colin’s Coffee was forced to close this past August because of the demolition of its home, the Golden Bear Center. Fortunately, it’s found a new home right across the street in the perfect spot: inside The Daily Growler Upper Arlington!

(Side note: get a quick look at his old location in 2013.)

I love the combination of breweries/bars doubling as coffee shops in the mornings. It’s a great use of space and an opportunity for business collaborations. (One of my favorites is Roosevelt Coffee inside Olentangy River Brewing.)

Owner Colin Gawel, known to many as a member of the band Watershed (keep up with his many writings at Pencil Storm), has brought all of his signature drinks and snacks over to the new spot.

The Daily Growler features a front space with seating, as well as a rear room that’s great for group gatherings.

Since it was my first visit to the new space, I figured it was fitting to order the Golden Bear latte with vanilla and honey.

Colin event brought over some of the swag and knick-knacks from the old location.

Colin’s is open Monday-Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you visit Saturday or Sunday, you can transition easily from coffee to beer!
