It’s always great when a new brewery opens fairly close to home, but a new brewery with a full-service coffee shop inside?! Count me in.
I’ve been eagerly anticipating the opening of Olentangy River Brewing Company, the first brewery in Lewis Center, sitting in a renovated office/warehouse building just off Route 23, across from our beloved Highbanks Metro Park. I think the location is great for the surrounding area, and for its proximity to the park and the Nationwide conference center.

The special bonus is that the Roosevelt Coffeehouse has established a full-service coffee shop inside the brewery, so you can visit every morning starting at 7 a.m. for brewed coffee, espresso drinks, Pattycake snacks, and… if you’re up for it, a beer.

They have a full range of coffees crafted by Roosevelt’s roasting operation, the relatively new Roosevelt Coffee Roasters.

I camped out for a few hours one morning with a couple cortados (both excellently done) and worked. There’s free wifi and plenty of space at the bar, the larger tables, and smaller four-tops throughout the space. So if you’re like me and enjoy a mobile office a couple days a week, consider this place!

Even though the space was relatively new when I visited, there was a good crowd. It wasn’t so busy, though, that I couldn’t easily find a table to work. But maybe bring a pair of headphones, if you’re not planning on a meeting or conversation with friends.

I’ll certainly add Roosevelt’s new coffee shop to my list of preferred mobile offices! And I suppose if you work there long enough throughout the day, you could easily transition from coffee to beer…
