Cocky’s Bagels, a Cleveland bagel shop with locations in the Flats and North Olmsted, debuted their first Columbus location near south campus last week! From their little storefront in the Highline at Nine, a new apartment building on High Street, they serve up freshly made bagels, bagel sandwiches, coffee, and other snacks.
The dining room is decorated with real flowers on the tables, plus a few Instagramable focus walls. (Aside from the big Cocky’s sign, some of the others feel a little unnecessary.)
Guests simply order at the counter and are given a number. Cocky’s also clearly does a steady to-go business.
They feature a full coffee bar as well; I ordered a cortado to go with breakfast. It was well done, if a little bitter.
Our food rolled out pretty quickly. They feature about a half dozen types of bagels and flavored cream cheeses, plus both breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches.
I went with The Western, which combines bacon, egg, grilled onions and peppers, and pepper jack cheese with a chipotle ranch. On an everything bagel, of course!
The Wake ‘N Bacon features the classic combo of bacon, egg, American cheese, plus their garlic herb cream cheese.
They also serve a pair of open-faced bagel sandwiches, one of which is a pizza bagel and the other is this, the Avocado Toast. It’s got avocado, fried egg, tomato, (and we added bacon), plus their house Cocky’s Sauce.
The Dirty layers turkey, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and onion with their bacon herb cream cheese.
I mean… hard to argue with that!
It’s also worth noting that Cocky’s features a variety of vegan and gluten free options.
And you’ll find a variety of sides and snacks, including sweet bagels and cookies as big as your head.
And of course they have to work in a couple jokes about the name…
Cocky’s Bagels is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
