Maudine’s Coffee is the in-house shop at The Junto hotel on the Scioto Peninsula. It’s open to the public every day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Maudine’s draws its name from the Holstein who was voted Ohio State’s homecoming queen in 1926! Thus the beautiful little cow spot theme in the counter. (Or is it “cownter?”)
They serve espresso drinks, brewed coffee, cold brew, chai, tea, and other beverages. There’s no charge for alternative types of milk, too.
Food-wise, they offer a small selection of cookies and pastries made in-house.
For a more substantial breakfast, you can order their breakfast sandwich, which layers custardy eggs, bacon, cheddar, arugula, and a chipotle aioli on brioche.
Or the trio of breakfast tacos with scrambled egg, potatoes, cotija, and a couple salsas. (I recommend adding the bacon.)
You’ll also find yogurts, parfaits, salads, sandwiches, fruit, and beverages in the cooler.
Maudine’s is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Like all of The Junto’s eateries, it’s open to the public!
