This past week Maple Street Biscuits, which debuted its first central Ohio location at Polaris earlier this year, opened a location at 7105 N. High St. in Worthington. The Jacksonville, Florida-based chain, owned by Cracker Barrel, plans more locations across central Ohio – the next seems to be Powell.
The large end space sits in the new Worthington Gateway development, across Wilson Bridge Road from the Worthington mall.
Maple Street uses counter service for its guests. You collect a number and they bring everything to your table.
They have custom mugs made for each location.
You can purchase mugs, coffee beans, and other swag as well.
We’ve been to the Polaris Maple Street Biscuits several times and have enjoyed all of our meals. The portions are always generous. The Five & Dime features all the good stuff: fried chicken, cheddar, an egg, bacon on biscuits and covered with a zesty sausage gravy. (There’s also the option for a shiitake gravy.)
One of our favorites, the Squawking Goat, features fried chicken and a goat cheese medallion on biscuits with a pepper jelly.
The Firebird layers fried chicken, cheddar, and typically veggies (our youngest removed them) with loads of buffalo sauce.
The High Steaks is enough to easily feed two people: country fried steak on a biscuit with gravy.
Maple Street also does biscuit breakfast sandwiches, sweet and savory waffles, chicken strips, mimosas, grits. For a sweet note, try the iced cinnamon biscuits, their take on a cinnamon roll.
Maple Street Biscuits is currently open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
