UPDATE: the South End Cafe will open to the public on Monday, March 6!
A new social enterprise from the Community Development for All People (CD4AP) held its ribbon cutting this week on Parsons Avenue! The South End Cafe features coffee and snacks, and is dedicated to hiring those who need help building up a work history and developing important skills.
We caught the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the cafe, which is located on Parsons Avenue on the eastern edge of the Reeb-Hosack neighborhood on the south side.
The long cafe space features exposed brick and tiled walls, lots of natural light from the street.
The cafe currently features a menu of drip coffee, espresso, tea, hot chocolate, plus snacks like muffins.
The walls are adorned with local artists’ work, most of which are currently reproductions of murals spread throughout the city.
And the space features tables and counter space with plenty of outlets for studying, working, and meeting.
