Columbus friends, the Spaghetti Warehouse has officially reopened in its new space downtown! The local institution closed in March of 2022 after the roof on its long-time building on West Broad Street partially collapsed.
The Spaghetti Warehouse owners then decided to make the move to 150 S. High St., in the long-empty restaurant space that opens onto the Columbus Commons. It was last home to de-NOVO, which closed at the end of 2017.
The new version of the Spaghetti Warehouse does what it can to replicate the old warehouse location while marrying elements of the new build. The front waiting area features the host stand, a few tables, and a full bar, so guests can grab drinks while they wait for tables.
Leading to the main dining room is a hallway with deep-sunk booths on both sides, meant to mimic the old trolley seating.
The main dining room features an open layout, with a trio of garage doors that can open onto the Columbus Commons. Those spots will be a hot commodity during the Commons’ busy event season during the spring, summer, and early fall.
The Spaghetti Warehouse has brought back many of the greatest hits from its menu, starting with small items like its bread service.
You can see their full menu here.
The beverage menu includes bottled and draft beer, cocktails, wines, spritzes, and sangrias.
The menu is broken down into two pages of small plates, soup/salads/sandwiches, pizzas, specialty entrees, original classics, and desserts. We started with the garlic cheese bread.
Plus a plate of mozzarella fritta. (I’m a sucker for mozzarella sticks in all forms.)
And the calamari with marina for dipping.
Each of the entrees comes with a side of soup or a salad with your choice of dressing.
We hit up many of the classics for our entrees: fettuccine alfredo.
The original recipe spaghetti with meatballs.
The linguine frutti di mare: linguine tossed with shrimp, calamari, and mussels.
And a plate of four cheese ravioli.
Our server convinced us to try a couple slices of cheesecake, too, imported directly from none other than the Cheesecake Factory. (Makes sense: Spaghetti Warehouse <-> Cheesecake Factory.)
The Spaghetti Warehouse is currently open Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking is available at spots along South High and surrounding streets, or in the two Columbus Commons garages.
