Listen, I’m by no means an expert in tamales, but I have to throw down and say I think Patty’s Kitchen makes the best tamales in Columbus. We get them almost every Saturday – all year long – at the Worthington Farmers Market.
During the outdoor market (April-October), Patty’s typically has a tent on the southwest quadrant of the Worthington village green (on the north end of the farmers market footprint).
Their menu typically features seven different types of tamales, both meat- and veggie-centric versions, including a couple sweet offerings.
They often sell other specials like guacamole and chips, too.
We’ve tasted pretty much all of their tamales and loved them all. My personal preference is the pork or the poblano.
Our boys love the chicken version especially.
Often the toughest decision is whether to eat the tamales right there at the market or take them home.
Patty’s Kitchen is a year-round vendor at the Worthington Farmers Market, appearing with a similar stand when the market moves indoors to the Worthington mall November-March.
Patty’s Kitchen also has a storefront inside a liquor store behind the Sheetz on 161/Dublin-Granville Road, just west of I-71. The storefront is pick-up only, no dine-in, and they’re available Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
